So today I’m stuck at home with a gouty foot flare up. For those who have gout, you know how debilitating it can be.
When I first developed it a couple years back, I had no idea what gout was, I just knew my ankle would suddenly hurt for no apparent reason and after a few days as soon as I thought it was getting better, another part of my ankle or some part of my other foot would develop the same debilitating pain. They say gout is the disease of Kings and Royalty because gout is oftentimes associated with rich meaty food and decadence. No doubt, it’s a “Royal” pain in the arse! Long story short, gout develops in some people especially when you get older (but can be at any age) when the food you eat contains a large level of purine which is natural in a lot of food and in your own system. But when your system can’t filter out the excess purine fast enough,
it becomes uric acid and can form and accumulate in your joints as urate crystals which can cause pain in and by itself but can be exasperated when that area of your joint becomes inflamed. Disclaimer, I’m not a doctor, I just play one online, please research for yourself with your real doctor and other resources if you think you have gout, my knowledge here regarding gout is limited.
So being stuck at home today gave me a chance to look back on a blog series I started awhile back entitled, “A San Francisco Bay Area Through The Eyes of a Local Artist and Photographer Series.” I started this series of blogs because I’ve lived in San Francisco most of my adult live and have come to know and appreciate every inch of the City along with having had the opportunity to photograph and document it through the years.
But the series does take a lot of my time and I never really finished it even though the series was never meant to be “finished” since it was ongoing, as the City is a living ongoing changing organism. So as with most days when I’m stuck at home with nothing better to do, I have once again decided to continue that series, check it out HERE, hope you like it and come back for more as I develop them. Better yet, come back and buy one of my museum quality Art and Photography prints at https://printshop.wingsdomain.com! (LOL!)
